Lake Forest Garden Club is a member of
the Orange County
District of Garden
Clubs, Inc., and of the Pacific Region of National Garden Clubs, Inc.
Lake Forest Garden Club was organized in 1970. Currently we have around 90 members. Our theme for 2011-12 is "Dirt Theraapy." Our president, Loydele Kehler believes that "we can bury a lot of troubles by digging in dirt. And gardening is the best therapy in the world." During the year we earn money through activities to fund scholarships in the field of horticulture to college students in our community, offer butterfly kits to elementary classrooms to promote interest in nature, and we invite guest speakers to help us cultivate our own gardens. We want to create, stimulate, and inspire interest in amateur gardening.
